Well I've made it 3 days without slipping and eating or drinking anything bad! I am pretty excited for myself and Allan that we are doing this...I am playing cheerleader for the two of us. Today I woke up at 6 without my alarm and that is just such an awesome feeling! Plus I didn't feel groggy...even better! Poor Allan is really shattered cause he's really going through the withdrawals from all of the bad food. I keep telling him that he's doing a great job and in a couple of weeks he will be so thankful that he's doing this.
We had a lovely Balsamic Chicken and Brown Rice Pilaf for dinner last night and it was also our lunch today. I didn't take any pics like I said I would. Sorry...so exhausted after work, then cooking for over an hour that all I want to do is eat! Kind of forgot about the pics. Maybe I will remember tonight as I don't think that our meal will take too much effort like the past few days. For breakfast this morning we had the Mango Smoothie again which was just as delicious as yesterday. Going to do a different one tomorrow to change it up.
Will definitely post pics of something tomorrow!

Elimination Diet Day 2
So I am on Day 2 of my Elimination Diet and I feel a lot better today than I did yesterday with regards to my hunger level. Yesterday I thought I might eat my left arm from the hunger pangs I had. But I survived...I went across the road to Sainsburys and got myself some plain (no salt no nothing) cashews for a snack which helped tremendously. As soon as I got home last night I started making dinner. That's one thing about these dishes they take a lot of prep work especially since you are working with so many veggies...I need a frickin' food processor! The meal was super yummy, it was an Asian Chicken Salad with no Soy...very good!
This morning I made a mango smoothie and let me tell you I could have had 3 of them it was so damn good! I am going to start taking pics of what I am making. For lunch I had leftovers because it's the only way that I can follow the diet while at work...food has got to be made the night before for lunch. I am feeling so much better today than yesterday...now I wonder how I will feel while on the detox because there will be one whole less meal. I think I will be good and I can see how it is essential that you do 1 week on the elimination diet to get your body ready for the process. I am going to add working out to the mix now, wanted to wait a couple of days to adjust to the changes, but I feel ready now.
Yay for getting healthy! x

Part I: Elimination Diet Day 1
As you can probably tell from the title I've started a diet. Well, it's more like a lifestyle change which means I have to change my diet. Last week I started thinking about my weight, health and just general well-being and really didn't like what I was seeing in the mirror or how I was feeling so I decided to order a book that I had heard a lot about to help me. The book is called 'Clean' and it's by Dr Alejandro Junger. To be honest, I was so excited to get this book because I was ready to get my act together with food. When it showed up in the post I started reading immediately.
From the very beginning of the book I knew that I was definitely on the right track. I kept reading and with every page I became even more ready to embark on this quest. I have so many of the symptoms that are issues with a bad diet, from bloating to lethargy, bad skin to weight gain...I have it all. I'm declaring that I've had enough of all of these things and I am the one who can change them by changing something as simple as my diet, actually that's a lot harder than it is simple. I am pretty sure most people would agree that it's easier said than done to make a change like this, especially when you live with someone else. That's why I had to get Allan on board with doing it with me otherwise there was no way that I would be able to stay on track.
I am so glad that Allan is willing to partake in this voyage with me, I will definitely need support to make it through the next 4 weeks.
The way the program is set up is that you do an elimination diet first and then you begin the detox. So today is my first day of the elimination diet and I am sitting here at work trying to not think about food that I can't have. I've had a smoothie for breakfast which was good (but not a super creamy yummy yogurt smoothie), a cup of green tea, a lentil salad that I made yesterday for today's lunch (that thing took a lot of work to make!), a few cashews and a bunch of water. Luckily you can have two solid meals while doing the elimination diet (lunch and dinner) but then it goes down to just one on the Detox.
All I have to say is that today is hard because I have not had my normal coffee or loads of carbs...basically I was eating like shit and it made me feel the same way so I just have to remember how I was feeling when I was eating like that...I would have eaters remorse after I stuck something bad in my mouth and would say to myself I won't have that again but it never actually worked out that way which has lead me to where I am now. I am sure the further into the program I get the better I will feel and look, today I am just tired and want to take a nap and eat something else. Don't worry I won't cause we spent a ton on healthy food and vitamins so you better believe I will be seeing this through to the end!
I will update you everyday of my progress...how I am feeling and what not.
On a note that has nothing to do with diet but with eating yummy food, I had dinner with Kylie and Sophie on Friday at a Korean restaurant in Golders Green called Kimchee and it was so delish! After dinner we went to Hampstead Village and had a frozen yogurt which was the perfect end to the evening. I would have taken pics of that adorable village but the weather was disgusting so there wouldn't have been any pics that could do it justice plus I was too busy holding my umbrella.
Hope everyone is doing good and all the daddy's out there had a wonderful father's day yesterday!

One Too Many Days Away...
Hello my lovelies...pretty sure that there are very few reading this but for those that are you are my lovelies. I've missed you and not filling you in on my world for the past long week (it's been longer than a week but we'll try not to focus on that).
Anywho, things have been relatively quiet for the past couple of weeks. Last week was really low key and not much happened of any consequence. There's really not much to update about. Last Friday we met up with Sam and Rene for a drink and dinner. We went to Tandoori Nights in East Dulwich....if you want a delicious curry definitely head there if you're in that neck of the woods. Saturday was Ceri's 30th birthday party which was lovely, it was held down at the Plough and there was a great group of people there. Really nice gathering. Then on Sunday Allan and I took it nice and easy, I was so looking forward to just doing nothing and I wasn't disappointed. We did watch an amazing Formula 1 race, for those that didn't see it you missed one of the most exciting races in a long time!
I've managed to find a new tv show addiction - Southland. Has anyone watched it?! It's awesome! If you have a chance definitely check it out. Last night Allan and I had a nice little marathon. Well kids not much else to report. I'm kind of boring today, but I promise to be a better updater!

Teppenyaki, Friends and Afternoon Tea...
I know you are saying wow! two posts in one day! I just thought to chronicle the past two weekends would be best done in two separate posts. So this is the low-down on this past weekend and some pictures from it.
Friday night we met up with Kylie and David for a fun-filled dinner experience at Sen Nin in Islington. It's a Teppenyaki place, and if you haven't been to one before...go! It's a treat, lots of fun and laughing! Food was great too.

On Saturday we stopped over at Ceri and Matt's for a couple of hours for a nice visit and I got to hold Alice which was awesome! That evening we went to the Crown and Greyhound to meet up with Rene which was really nice.
Sunday was awesome because Kylie and I went for a truly posh tea at the Berkeley Hotel in Knightsbridge. It was absolutely stunning and I would recommend it to anyone that is looking for an afternoon tea spot in London.
Just cause we can't leave anyone out here's a little picture of the stinker sleeping and looking cute!
Hampton Court Palace
Sorry for not being around for the past couple of weeks. Things were quite busy. There was actually quite of bit of fun involved with that being busy.
For starters the weekend before last was a great one! We went to a friend's place for a BBQ and to watch the Man U vs Barcelona match, which was nice. But before we headed over there Ceri and Matt stopped by with precious little Alica.
That weekend also consisted of heading to Hampton Court Palace for a food festival which was fun. Allan and I tasted loads of yummy cheeses and chutneys before agreeing to sit down with a bottle of bubbly. Ahh what a good choice. We also walked through a snippet of the grounds of the Palace, but of course we didn't miss the maze!
